Ever wonder what the ethnic breakdown of this country is like?
First, a primer on how Stats Can compiles the figures can be read here. But come right back. I’m waiting.
Done?
Good.
Let’s ease you into this. First a glimpse into immigration from 1896 to1915. Enjoy.
Naturally, British immigrants compromising of English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish were the largest group entering Canada. Russian, Hungarian, Ukranian, French, Chinese, Bulgarian, Yugoslavian, Norwegian, Dutch, Swedish, Hebrew, Italian, Polish and German immigrants also made up a sizable component.
Now here’s what this country “looks” like in terms of percentages (shamelessly taken from wikipedia. View more from Stats can here.)
There’s no table covering a long, lost tribe I belong to: Invisible minorities.
