Gert Morgenstern, a german-born psychiatrist, describes the arrival of his parents and grandparents to Canada, fleeing Germany in 1938 and 1939, and explains why he and his children no longer speak german. But instead of simply labelling Nazis as evil, he sees them as brothers, children of divorced parents, suffering from a sickness that is still present in many parts of the world...
