In 1975 Ora Kozlov was dancing in the Israeli Classical Ballet when she fell in love with a Canadian. A year of correspondence lead to the purchase of an open-ended ticket to Montreal, the other half she’s kept unused in the back of her closet for 34 years. Since that time, she’s become one of Quebec’s most regarded ballet mistresses teaching the Nutcracker Suite to over 200 children every year. Luckily enough, all of ballet’s vocabulary is in French, and Ora’s been able to work in Quebec without ever learning the native language. Her portrait is an example of the universality of the spirit and its transcendence of language.
