At age 18, Dierry hung out in the mean streets of St Michel, lingering with neighborhood gangs, robbing, drinking, drugging and fighting when the opportunity presented itself. Older brother Reginald wasn’t much of a role model, impregnating a girl within a year of arriving, then tumbling into the legal system on numerous gun possession, assault and drug charges. But one morning everything changed. Dierry retells the dream with the same vivid details it awakened him with eight years ago: early that morning his skin felt like it was on fire while he stood in a boxing ring, a place extremely unfamiliar to him
